Born in Pittsburgh, she was a retired registered nurse, hospice volunteer on Oahu and Hawaii Island and mediator for Neighborhood Justice Center on Oahu. Charmaine Rose Lorenzo, 60, of Pittsburg, Calif., died March 26 in Antioch, Calif. Born in Pahala, she owned and operated Hale Kupa‘a School, taught at Hale O Kamali‘i Montessori School, Hale Aloha Nazarene School, Waters of Life (Na Wai Ola) Public Charter School, Boys and Girls Club of Hilo, Goodwill Industries – Ole I Ka Hana, Hilo Community School for Adults, Hawaii National Guard Youth Challenge Academy and Paxen After-School All-Stars, attended Malia Puka O Kalani and St. Joseph Catholic churches, was a Hilo High School class of 1975 alumna and graduated from Chaminade University in early childhood education and Montessori.
